De meeste dames die zichzelf laten zien op internet, hebben maat 38 of zelfs een kleiner maatje. Er zijn ook weinig plus-size fashionblogs (such a shame!) terwijl de meeste dames met een maat 38/40/42/44 toch wel weten hoe ze zich leuk kunnen kleden omdat er zoveel kleding te vinden is voor die maten. Pas je niet in die maten dan is het wat moeilijker om leuke kleding te vinden. Niet iedereen houdt van bloemenprints (looking at you M&S!) of oudbollige kledij (looking at you, Ulla Popken!) of de eeuwige capri spijkerbroeken (looking at you Miss Etam!). Meestal is de plus-size kleding nogal oudbollig, wijd en allesbehalve flatterend.

De meeste plus-size dames kleden zich in wijde kleding om hun lichaam te verhullen. Nérgens voor nodig als je het mij vraagt! Wat wel belangrijk is als plus-sized beauty is dat je kleding draagt waar je je goed/comfortabel in voelt. Is dit niet het geval, dan voel je je niet alleen heel erg onzeker maar dit straal je ook uit!

Bovendien is het ook nodig dat je passend ondergoed draagt. Natuurlijk zijn er schattige lingerie-setjes waar je je big-bottom heus wel kan inproppen maar vaak zit dit a) niet lekker en b) tekent heel erg. Persoonlijk zitten de grotere-maten bh’s van de Hema bij mij prettig – ze hebben brede banden en ook de sluiting is breed. Die inieminie-strap bh’s zitten niet lekker en vaak snijden de bandjes dan. Qua ondergoed heeft de Hema ook hele mooie maxi-slips, welke lekker zitten en je ass niet uitvalt of onder je buik rollen. (girl, you know what i’m talking about!) Heb je een nauwsluitende jurk dan kun je een corrigerend hemdje en onderbroek nemen om alles glad te strijken.

Mijn persoonlijke favoriete shops qua plus-sized kleding is H&M BiB (big is beautiful) en ASOS Curve. Kwalitatief vind ik ASOS Curve beter, maar daar betaal je ook iets meer als bij H&M natuurlijk! ASOS is sneller met verzenden als H&M – plus rekenen ze geen verzendkosten. Win!

Nu heb je vast punten die je wil benadrukken, we gaan niets verhullen maar je betere punten benadrukken! Dus – heb je bijvoorbeeld:

• grote borsten maar een bollere buik
  Dan doe je er goed aan om een top/tuniek te kopen die een band heeft onder de borsten zodat die aandacht krijgen. Vaak lopen deze wijder uit met plooien en dan is de aandacht niet gevestigd op je buik.
• hoog gesloten met een kohl
  Dit vestigt ook de aandacht op je boezem, dit vind ik persoonlijk erg mooi. Je lijkt niet zo massief als er een mooi werkje op de borstpartij staat – iets geborduurd wat niet té erg opvalt maar toch een mooi detail heeft.
• junk in da trunk
  Heb je junk in da trunk maar wel een taille? dan is een koker-rok een goede optie. Je kunt er corrigerend ondergoed onder doen zodat alles strakker zit. Doe er een mooie top op en een paar leuke ballerina’s en you’re good to go! Kun je op heels lopen? Dan heels, natuurlijk!
• tenten
  Heb je een top/jurk waar weinig model in zit – de zogenoemde tenten? Draag er dan een riempje op! Je hebt leuke riempjes bij ASOS Curve, deze kun je dan in je taille of onder je borsten dragen – net waar jij de aandacht op wil vestigen.
• kipfilet armen
  Ik heb ze, and I do not care. Ik heb het snel warm en ik ga niet mijn armen bedekken omdat iemand ze misschien niet wil zien. Er zijn dames die ze wel graag bedekken, en ik zou dan voor een klein pof mouwtje gaan. De ‘normale’ t-shirt mouwen vind ik persoonlijk wat saai. Draag ook niet een te strakke mouw, dan tekent dat weer aan je arm!
• flared jeans
  Dit is meestal een no-go voor dikkere dames. Dit omdat de jeans vaak breed is en je dan optisch 1 groot vierkant lichaam krijgt. Wil je toch zo’n hippe broek aan – hou de bovenkant dan smal.
• schurende benen
  Ohh the horror! Ik kan geen jurkjes of rokjes aan zonder iets eronder want dat schuurt en broeit. Je kent het wel, van die zwetende dijen die tegen elkaar aan schuren en zeer gaan doen. S’avonds zijn je dijen knalrood of nog erger – blauw van het schuren en zweten. No more! Draag onder dat leuke jurkje een fietsbroek. Wat zeg je – fietsbroek? JA! Deze komen tot boven de knie en zorgen voor materiaal tussen je dijen zodat die krengen niet meer schuren. Ik haal mijn fietsbroekjes bij Neckermann.
• rollend ondergoed
  Je kent het wel – je onderbroek die onder je buik rolt zodra je beweegt waardoor je constant met je handen in je broek/rok zit om je onderbroek omhoog te hijsen. Dit is meestal omdat de onderbroek niet hoog genoeg is. Weg met die onderbroek, koop een maxi-slip! Niet zo charmant maar het zit een héél stuk beter.
• muffin top
  Je lovehandles die boven je broek uit piepen. Niet charmant. Vaak een teken dat je broek te klein is – koop hem een maatje groter. Zakt hij af? Koop dan een riem – maar doe deze niet te strak want dan krijg je die lovehandles weer!
• badpak/bikini
  Ik weet het – jezelf onzeker voelen omdat je badpak niets verhullend is. Problem solved: de swimdress! Ik heb er ook een – het zit niet alleen beter maar het staat ook mooier! Deze verkopen ze o.a bij Beauty-vol, Neckermann en Bon Prix.

Volgens mij heb ik nu heel wat ‘behandeld’.. Belangrijkste is nog steeds voel je goed in wat je draagt!

Niemand is perfect, perfectie bestaat niet.

De eyeliners hebben een foam tip (net zoals mijn geliefde maybelline eyeliner) waardoor je supermakkelijk eyeliner kunt opbrengen!
Ik teste eerst de black kohl!

Een mooie matzwarte kleur, met gouden shimmer!
Het is wel een geknoei als je teveel poeder op de tip hebt zitten, dan valt alles onder je oog/wangen.
Het is onwijs gepigmenteerd dus als je dan veegt is alles zwart.

Ik vind ze fijn, vooral de zwarte als ik een wat ‘zachtere’ look wil.
Het is echt aan te raden om een e/s basis te gebruiken, want hij loopt uit.
Ik had dus geen e/s basis gebruikt en mijn oogleden zijn nu donkergrijs

De opfoto’s van de gold kohl en de burgundy kohl komen later!
Zoals gezegd heb ik ze dus gewoon via eBay, zoeken op ‘l’oreal hip eyeliner‘ :smile:

PeaceKeeper’s Lip Paints zijn genomeerd voor ‘best lipproduct of the year’ door Cosmetics Excutive Woman (CEW). Hun product kreeg een 1 op de schaal van miliue-schadelijkhead (1 is niet schadelijk, 10 heel schadelijk).

De lipsticks smeren makkelijk uit, ze zijn heel romig! Me like.

• beeswax - produced from the hives of honey bees. it is estimated that these bees fly approximately 150,000 miles to produce one pound of beeswax. right now there is an alert in the science and agriculture sectors because the bee colonies are disappearing.
• carnauba wax - derived from the leaves of a brazilian plant called the carnauba palm (copernicia prunifera).
• candelilla wax is euphorbiaceae and is derived from the leaves of the candelilla shrub which is native to mexico and the usa.
• shea butter -extracted from the fruit of the shea tree. shea butter has strong moisturing and anti-inflammatory properties.
• castor oil - comes from an evergreen shrub that has been used medicinally for about 4,000 years. castor oil contains lectins which are carbohydrate binding proteins.
• jojoba oil – a wax produced from the seeds of the jojoba plant, simmondsia chinensis which can be found in the southern united states and mexico. jojoba is high in fatty acids.
• grapeseed oil – a vegetable oil pressed from the seeds of vitis vinifera grapes. grapeseed oil possesses regenerative ingredients for the skin such as high levels of linoleic acid, anti-oxidants, vitamin c, vitamin e, beta-carotene, omega 3-6-9 and other skin revitalizing ingredients. alpha-tocopherol is known as the most biological antioxidant in humans.
• tocopherol – also known as vitamin e,  a fat-soluble antioxidant. vitamin e plays an important role in protection against free radicals that contribute to chronic illnesses.

De lippenbalsem smeert ook supermakkelijk uit, alleen de geur is een beetje hinderlijk, hij ruikt namelijk naar tandpasta
De geur trekt na een tijdje gelukkig wel weg.

Hij maakt mijn lippen wel lekker zacht en omdat hij zo smeerbaar is, doe je er volgens mij best lang mee.
